FLIGHTS
There are daily, scheduled, one-hour flights from major Florida cities to the Marsh Harbour airport (MHH). (Nassau is just a 30 minute flight to Marsh Harbour.) From the airport, a ten minute taxi and 20 minute ferry ride bring you to the lower public dock in Hope Town, which is 200 feet or less to all the properties.
The two ferry companies leave approximately every hour starting at 7:00 a.m.; they make their last run to Hope Town around 5:45 p.m. Early departures and late arrivals can charter a ferry.
The Marsh Harbour Airport is currently serviced by:
- Continental/Gulfstream from West Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami
- American Airlines from Miami
- Bahamas Air from Nassau, West Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale
- Vintage Props & Jets from Orlando, New Smyrna Beach
- Twin Air/Calypso Air from Ft. Lauderdale, West Palm Beach
- Yellow Air Taxi from Ft. Lauderdale.
In addition, there are three local air charters that run flights to islands within the Bahamas.
With Florida just 175 miles west of Hope Town, many homeowners choose to make the Gulfstream crossing by private boat.
PASSPORTS & VISAS
For U.S. citizens, a passport is required for all air and sea travel to and from the Bahamas. No visa is required except for stays 8 months or longer.
Those from the U.K. and its colonies may enter the Bahamas without a passport or visa for stays up to three weeks. For longer stays, a passport is required.
Canadian citizens must present either a passport or a birth certificate for stays up to three weeks. A passport is required for stays longer than three weeks.
For French and German citizens a passport is required; no visa is needed except for stays longer than three months.
